Harry, thank you. There are a couple of points to mention; it is not the man's wife and children in the scene but perhaps a friend. You are right about the high angled shot of the sergeant in the final scene - it does show the room - BUT for what purpose? The man with the scarrdd face seems even more vulnerable and the other recruits look worried that they may have a similar fate.
